Environment, Eng. Ballio: "Natural risk management has changed"

“The management of natural risks, especially those related to water, has changed for several years. We no longer try to just prevent the risk from occurring, but we must learn to manage it. It is no longer just a question of prevention, but also of adaptation. This means having many more tools in hand”. These are the words of Francesco Ballio, professor of the civil and environmental engineering department at the Politecnico di Milano, on the occasion of the event “RETURN meets businesses: technology to support risk management”, held at the Politecnico di Milano. An event dedicated to the dialogue between research and the business world on the role of technology in the prevention, monitoring and management of environmental risks.
